“oh let me take you by the hand and lead you through the streets of namche...”

i don’t know what was more awe-inspiring; the magnificent vistas of snow capped gigantic mountains, the strength and tenacity of the sherpas, the group’s camaraderie... or john’s singing? john’s singing probably just about clinches it for me but i’m clearly not the first to have been so moved.

what a wonderful and memorable 2 ½ weeks we had in nepal. it has the best scenery on the planet, a rich and varied culture, welcoming people, the smallest taxis in the world, dirty streets, dodgy toilets and electricity supply, yaks, friendly dogs, prayer stones/flags/bells, water shortages and like many other countries a casino that left you shirtless! to share all of this with this group of people was an honour and a privilege i shall never forget.

one tip to you all – don’t go to nepal in january/february! it’s just too cold at night and the weather can really turn.

here’s to hardcore trekking, ridiculously cold temperatures, bad hygiene, 50 year storms, bloody scary suspension bridges, countless laughs, pills, thrills and bellyaches!
